About the Awards

Warwickshire is full of exciting and innovative businesses, and The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are a great way of celebrating their success.

Whether a small business with a great innovative product or service, or a larger company running an impressive social mobility programme, these awards are regarded as the most prestigious way to recognise UK businesses and their contribution to enterprise.

In 2021 there were 205 winners across the UK. This included 5 double winners. 90% of the 2020 Queen’s Awards winners were SMEs.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are awarded to businesses for outstanding achievement in four categories:

  1. Innovation
  2. International Trade
  3. Sustainable Development
  4. Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility)

When an organisation wins a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, they will be:

  • Invited to a Royal reception
  • Presented with the award by Warwickshire’s Lord Lieutenant, The Queen’s representative for this county
  • Able to fly The Queen’s Awards flag at their main office, and use the emblem on marketing materials
  • Given a Grant of Appointment (an official certificate) and a commemorative crystal trophy

The awards are valid for 5 years

Entry Criteria

To apply for The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise an organisation must:

  • Be based in the UK
  • File its Company Tax Returns with HMRC
  • Be a self-contained enterprise that markets its own products or services and is under its own management
  • Have at least 2 full-time UK employees
  • Demonstrate strong corporate social responsibility
  • Organisations can be a business or non-profit
