Paid opportunities to support vulnerable people in Warwickshire during the Covid-19 pandemic

Warwickshire County Council (WCC) is recruiting for a variety of temporary roles to support social care services during the COVID-19 pandemic to work in residential homes, nursing homes, domiciliary care and more.

The council is looking for individuals who are seeking short-term paid employment who are keen to take on a role which will support the vulnerable community in Warwickshire at this challenging time. It is looking for people who love helping others and enjoy working as part of a team. Successful candidates will be make a huge difference by carrying out support tasks such as:

  • Cleaning
  • Answering the phone
  • Supporting residents with video calls
  • Walking dogs
  • Talking to residents
  • Supporting at mealtimes
  • Arranging crafts and games
  • Checking vulnerable people are safe and well

The council are also recruiting for the following roles:

Catering staff
Maintenance staff
Cleaners

Working hours will be flexible around existing commitments basic training will be provided.

The council expects these opportunities will be particularly interesting for people who have unfortunately found themselves without work as a result of this worldwide pandemic. It is a challenging time for everyone but Warwickshire will be stronger if everyone comes together.

Joining the council in one of these roles at this time will help people most in need, provide extra income to people out of work and support the economy.

Interested applicants will need to submit an application and the recruitment team will try to match people with their chosen area of work and with organisations that are closest to applicants’ homes.

Successful applicants will be employed by the organisation as temporary workers and paid at an hourly rate for the shifts worked.
