Coventry digital health social enterprise wins prestigious national award

Coventry based Hope 4 The Community CIC has set a benchmark for innovation and impact by winning the "Tech for Good: Technology Social Enterprise of the Year" at the 2024 UK Social Enterprise Awards.

Social enterprises operate with a mission to create social or environmental impact, reinvesting at least half their profits to advance these goals. An estimated 131,000 social enterprises across the country are driving positive change through their purpose-driven business models.  Out of hundreds of entrants across 15 categories, this prestigious award celebrates the most innovative and impactful leaders transforming their communities and contributing to a better future for the UK.

Hope 4 The Community CIC (H4C) empowers people living with long-term health conditions and their carers through the Hope Programme, a suite of evidence-based self-management tools available both online and in-person. These programmes are licensed to public, voluntary, and private sector organisations.

Since its inception, the Hope Programme has helped over 30,000 individuals and collaborated with 28 organisations across the UK.

Gabriela Matouskova, CEO of Hope 4 The Community CIC, commented: “We are honoured to be named Tech for Good: Technology Social Enterprise of the Year 2024. Since moving online during the pandemic, the Hope Programme has supported tens of thousands to improve their quality of life. This award highlights the power of combining community-led solutions with innovative technology. It also ties into the government’s 10-year plan for empowering people living with long-term conditions with digital tools, reinforcing the need to invest in evidence-based, innovative social enterprises that drive real change for both people and the planet.”

The award was received at the inspiring event which celebrates the impact, creativity and innovation of the sector and was held at London’s iconic Roundhouse on 4 December, hosted by Social Enterprise UK, the national body for the sector.

Peter Holbrook CBE, chief executive of Social Enterprise UK, said: “Our incredible winners capture the breadth and impact of the nation’s social enterprises. Their stories all make it clear how vital social enterprise is to building a stronger, fairer, more sustainable world.”
